The officers of the P.W.D. and Stores Departments have instructions to inspect Government quarters and furniture at least once in every twelve months and the occupants are required to give every facility for such inspection which will be made with due regard to their convenience.
117. The rooms of all Government quarters have battens from which pictures can be suspended by hooks and hooks are also provided for hanging up clothes and other articles. No nails should therefore be driven into the walls or doors. If hooks are required in addition to those provided, application should be made to the Public Works Department and, if found to be necessary, they will be supplied.
118. Unless with the express permission of theGovernment, an officer may not share Government quarters with any person who is not employed in the Government service, excepting always members of his own family and temporary guests.
118A. Officers will be held responsible for the proper use of flush dbsets installed in servants' quarters and they will be required to defray any expense arising from improper use.
119.
(1)
Except with the permission of the Government, occupants of Government quarters or their servants will not be allowed to keep poultry on the premises.
(2) Dogs may not be kept in Government quarters except under the following

reservations:
(a) Terriers and other small dogs and chows may be kept, subject to the condition that they are kept free from ticks.
(b) Subject to the same condition, sporting and other large dogs may be kept in stables, or in kennels to be provided by the owner outside the house.
(c) If Government quarters become infested with ticks or fleas the occupier will be held responsible for the cost incurred in ridding the building of them.
(a) Lawns or grass plots which are definitely allocated to the occupier of any Government Quarters must be well and sufficiently maintained by the occupier, fair and reasonable wear and tear excepted.
The Botanical and Forestry Department will carry out any reinstatement work attributable to unfair or unreasonable use or wear and tear, and the cost will be charged to the occupier concerned.

(b) Ordinary upkeep of lawns or grass plots which are/definitely allocated to an occupier of Government Quarters, or which are shared by, or are available to, the occupiers of more than one house or flat, will be attended to by the Botanical and Forestry Department, but that Department will not carry out any work on Sundays or holidays, nor undertake the marking out of courts, or the erecting or storing of nets or gear of any description.
